Adrenal Fatigue – Prevention Is Better Than Cure

Adrenal fatigue is very misunderstood in relation to our menopause. So what can we do? Here are the factors that lead to adrenal fatigue which then contributes to a host of wellness issue and hormonal imbalances⠀

POOR DIET: Too many carbs, too much sugar, not enough good quality protein and healthy fats, too much caffeine, and not eating enough! Eating less than 1000 calories a day wreaks havoc on hormones and adrenals. ⠀

STRESS: Both physical and mental stress is making us ill.⠀

OVEREXERCISING: Exhausted after a workout means too much stress on the adrenals. Look at gentler forms of exercise, you will reap the benefits.⠀

POOR SLEEP: This is chicken and egg. At this time of transition, poor sleep affects many of us and one of the cases of this is adrenal fatigue, but to help support the adrenals we need 6-8 hours of good sleep a night. Are our lifestyle habits affecting our sleep? Alcohol, smoking, late nights, substance abuse, stress, diet….?⠀

In a nutshell, it’s all about self-care. Our symptoms are SHOUTING at us deal with the stressors in our lives and this is why our menopause is so powerful.

We are confronted with the things in our life that are not serving us and if we deal with them now, we will go into the next phase of our lives, post-menopause, liberated, healthy and ready to take on the world! Hopefully, I’ll see you all there!
