The Liver and Self Care

A toxic system causes inflammation and inflammation causes disease.

As we get older, our ability to fight disease lessens and as a demographic, us women between 50 and 70 are at a higher risk of hormone-related cancers. One theory is that if we don’t support our liver’s job of detoxification with our lifestyle, the non-removal of excess hormones increases our risk of developing these types of cancer.

Our liver is part of our immune system, and a healthy immune system can identify cancerous cells and work to get rid of them before they get a chance to grow and spread. By moderating or abstaining from alcohol we are supporting the hugely important job of our liver which aims to keep our bodies toxin-free.

Not drinking alcohol in excess is SELF CARE. Supporting your liver and balancing your depleting hormone levels is SELF CARE. Putting your HEALTH and your MENOPAUSE high up on your list of priorities is SELF CARE. It is never too late to start loving yourself and it’s never too late to make the lifestyle changes you need to live a happy and healthy life
